Frequently Asked Questions

The redesigned Clew navigation: Dashboards, Organisation and Modules

Will this affect our existing structure?

No. Your organisational structure, registers, and data are unchanged. The redesign focuses on how that structure is expressed and navigated, not how it is stored.

Will our users need training?

Most users will find it intuitive because the navigation now mirrors how the platform actually works. We'll also provide in-app guidance and short walkthroughs at launch.

Where did things move?

Nothing has moved, it's been clarified. The same capabilities are now organised into three distinct layers: Dashboards, Organisation, and Modules. Each has a defined role, which makes it easier to know where to go.

Will this change how we manage risk and assurance?

No. Your governance processes and workflows are unchanged. The redesign makes those processes easier to navigate, not different.

Is this just a visual update?

No. While the interface has been refined, the redesign introduces a clearer structural model. It expresses how the platform actually works, and that alignment helps users move more confidently between understanding performance and taking action.

Where do I start when I log in?

Start with what you're trying to do. To understand how things are tracking, go to Dashboards. To work within a part of the business, go to Organisation. To work in a specific area such as risks, actions or incidents, go to Modules.

How do I know where I am?

Tree structure: use the tree structure in the left panel, which shows how your organisation is organised in Clew. You can expand individual nodes and explore the full structure.

Breadcrumbs: show your path through the organisational structure. As you move deeper, the view narrows to what belongs in that part of the organisation. You can step back up at any point without losing your place.

How do I find my actions, risks or controls?

Working within your part of the business: select it in Organisation to see and work with its risks, actions and controls in place.

Working across the whole organisation: go to Modules. Use filters to narrow the view to a business unit, site or division.

How do I focus on just my part of the business?

Use filtering. You can view module data through your organisational context, for example all actions for a single site, while still using the full capability of the module. Filtering changes your view, not the structure.

I'm reviewing a business unit and need to update a risk. How do I get there?

You're already there. When you select a business unit in Organisation, you can open and edit its risks from that view. You don't need to leave your place in the structure.

How do I focus on just my part of the business?

Select your business unit, site or division in Organisation. The view narrows to what belongs there. In Modules, use filters to get the same focus. Filtering changes what you see, not the structure itself.

Where do I go to prepare for a performance or exec conversation?

Start in Dashboards to understand how things are tracking. Then use Organisation to see performance in the context of a specific part of the business. Use Modules to review the underlying risks, actions or controls.

Is this just a visual update?

No. While the interface has been refined, the redesign introduces a clearer structural model. It expresses how the platform actually works, and that alignment helps users move more confidently between understanding performance and taking action.
